Why Accessibility Matters

It is a legal duty, a quality bar, and a growth lever.

More than a billion people worldwide live with some form of disability. When your product is hard to use with a keyboard, a screen reader, or voice control, those people simply cannot become your customers, employees, or students.

At the same time, regulation keeps expanding. Organizations are expected to meet WCAG through the ADA, Section 508, and the European Accessibility Act, and enterprise buyers increasingly ask for an ACR before they sign.

  • Reach more users. Open your product to people who rely on assistive technology.
  • Meet legal requirements. Align with WCAG, ADA, and Section 508 before it becomes a claim.
  • Improve usability for everyone. Clear structure and keyboard support help all users, including on mobile and in poor conditions.
  • Win enterprise and public-sector deals. Procurement teams ask for conformance evidence.
  • Build an inclusive brand. Show customers that inclusion is part of how you build.
The State of Web Accessibility

Most of the web still has barriers.

Each year, WebAIM tests the home pages of the top one million websites. The results repeat: the same basic problems appear again and again, and most are quick to fix.

Most common failures, % of home pages (2026)
  • Low contrast text83.9%
  • Missing image alt text53.1%
  • Missing form input labels51.0%
  • Empty links46.3%
  • Empty buttons30.6%
  • Missing document language13.5%
95.9%of home pages had detectable WCAG failures
56.1average detectable errors per home page
1 in 26home page elements had an error

About Us

Accessibility is our entire focus.

Qanovate is a digital accessibility partner. We combine testing discipline, engineering skill, and lived-experience awareness to help organizations build products everyone can use.

Who we are

Qanovate exists because accessibility is too often treated as a checklist handed over at the end of a project. We believe it works best as part of how products are designed, built, and tested every day.

We are a specialist team of accessibility testers and engineers. We work alongside your designers, developers, QA, and compliance stakeholders, and we measure success by whether barriers are actually removed, not by the length of a report.

Our mission

To make digital experiences accessible for everyone, by helping organizations identify, fix, and prevent accessibility barriers and achieve lasting compliance and inclusion.

Our vision

A digital world where accessibility is expected, not requested.

What We Believe

Principles behind our work

Real users first

Standards matter, but the goal is that a person using a screen reader, keyboard, or magnifier can complete their task.

Manual over automated

Automated tools catch only part of the issues. Expert manual testing with assistive technology finds the rest.

Fixes, not just findings

Every issue comes with clear guidance and code-level recommendations your team can apply.

Honest reporting

Our VPAT/ACR documents describe what is true, including partial support, so you can rely on them.

How We Work

A clear, repeatable process

Every engagement follows the same four stages, so you always know what happens next.

  1. Scope

We agree on the pages, flows, platforms, and the WCAG level you are targeting.

  2. Evaluate

Manual testing with screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, zoom, and contrast checks, plus automated scans.

  3. Report & Remediate

Prioritized findings with fixes, a walkthrough with your team, and support while issues are resolved.

  4. Verify & Sustain

We retest fixes, issue conformance documentation, and train your teams so issues don’t return.

Expertise

Standards and tools we use

Our testing covers the full range of platforms and assistive technologies your users rely on.

  • Standards: WCAG 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2, ADA, Section 508, EN 301 549, European Accessibility Act
  • Assistive technology: NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack, voice control, screen magnification
  • Automated tools: axe, WAVE, Lighthouse, color contrast analyzers
  • Platforms: websites, web apps, iOS and Android apps, PDFs and documents

Frequently Asked

Common questions

What is the difference between a VPAT and an ACR?

A VPAT is the template. The completed document is the Accessibility Conformance Report (ACR), which states how your product meets each criterion.

Which WCAG level should we target?

Most laws and contracts reference WCAG 2.1 or 2.2 Level AA. We confirm the right target with you during scoping.

Do automated tools find everything?

No. They detect only a portion of issues, which is why we combine them with manual testing using assistive technology.

Can you work with our existing development team?

Yes. We work inside your workflow and tools, and can support either hand-off or hands-on remediation.
